Eugene Palinchik, age 91 of Medina, passed away November 20, 2018. He was born in Lakewood on May 22, 1927 to the late Michael and Anna (Brinza) Palinchik. Eugene was a member of St. Francis for over 60 years and involved with the Knights of Columbus there. He enjoyed golfing and was a jack-of-all-trades, being particularly skilled in carpentry. He served in the US Navy in WWII.
He is survived by his children Jim (Jackie) Palinchik, Beth Scott (Mateo Nieto), Mary Dutton (Rusty Reardon) and Michael Palinchik; grandchildren Josie, Lindsay, Nathan, Julie, Brenda, David, Jessica, Andrew, Katie, Kelly and Michael; 12 great-grandchildren; and his sisters Carol Halloran and Donna Bogar. Eugene was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Shirley, in 2005; his parents; his brother Ernest Palinchik; and his sister Barbara Smajdek.
The family will receive friends from 5-8:00 pm on Monday, November 26, 2018 at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St Medina, 44256. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am, Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 606 E. Washington St., Medina 44256. Fr. Tony Sejba will officiate and burial will follow at St. Francis Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Eugene’s memory to St. Francis at the address above.
Added Note: Brother Palinchik was a Honorary Life Member of our council serving 67 years as a Knight. He took his 1st degree on May 1, 1951.
