Thanks to Dave Taylor, we will once again be hosting our Annual Tournament in Tony’s name at Veterans Memorial Hall on North Broadway in Medina.
Please mark your calendar to join us Saturday Nov 4 and help us promote this special event once more in Tony’s name for the benefit of families sending their children to St Francis Xavier Day School. For those that knew Tony, he was most importantly Barb’s #1 Tony, father of Ben, Joe & TJ who all attended St Francis Xavier Day School. He loved to tell you a story (although if you were telling one, he’d ask “Is this a long story?!”), laugh heartily, help countless folks in need and most especially he loved to yuck it up playing cards with his friends. It’s hard to believe it’s been 13 and a half years since he died and went ahead of us at the too young age of 46, but I know he’s encouraging us to come together in fellowship to make a difference helping families to offset their tuition costs at St Francis Xavier School!
We are holding the 11th Annual Holdem Tournament in Tony’s name to benefit the scholarship fund sponsored by our Knights of Columbus Council #4168 for St Francis Xavier Day School. To date over $60,000 has been awarded to families. Last year eight $900 scholarships (see attached pic) were awarded to deserving families of St Francis and we’re counting on a big turnout to raise even more funds for such a worthy cause once more in Tony’s name. I’m hoping you can help me to pass the word and turn out for a great evening of fun and fellowship. As well, if you cannot play this year, please consider a gift of cash, gift card or perhaps a gift you received that’s unused and could be included in our raffle.
